Winter Has Arrived

It's cold outside and all my summer photo subjects are tucked below their winter white blanket.

I miss them.

While some of our wonderful wild creatures have taken on a new look for the winter and are still out there looking for food and trying to keep warm in this cold weather.

It's can be a bit harder to see them but you can always find where they have been.

I'm sure he has grown into a large white snow shoe hare, and he out there somewhere.

Wet Blooms & Bunnies

The last three days have been a mixture of sun, wind and rain. We were in bad need of the rain as the ground was very dry. Now that the wind has calmed down it is nice to get out and see all the new blooms in my garden the rain has brought. I have dark blue and light blue Iris's in bloom along with a new one this year that a friend gave to us from their yard. It is a deep blue and pale yellow Iris, not sure of the name or variety.

One rose bush is in bloom and the peony's will be opened in a day or two.

White and pink clover is beginning to color the fields among the wild daisies, wild strawberries and yellow & orange Devils Paintbrush. It will soon be time for the Black Eyed Susan, my favorite wildflower.

I also saw my first baby rabbit of 2009 today. I hope he is OK as he was wet from the grass and pretty small in this big world of predators, lawnmowers, big feet and big birds. I will have to be on the look out now so I can get some photos of the new bunnies.

Keep your eye on the ground and your finger on the shutter.

How Far Will It Go?

Today being the first day of my vacation was a great sunny day despite what the weather man was saying. I got started with my mulch and had some quality time with my camera as well.

How far will 260.00 take me? I guess I will have to wait and see.
Three yards of the finest Premium Black Mulch from Wood's in Teahill.

I got three of my beds done today.

Tomorrow is another day.
Good Night!!

Summer 2009

With the beginning of summer things are changing.
There are new plants, new birds and new babies.

Three baby chipmunks were sitting on this stump but when I got there with the camera only two were there.

Lots of birds and other flyer's around as well.

There is a male Northern Parula who has been hanging around for quite some time. He likes to admire himself in windows, mirrors, and even likes his reflection in the car.

I can't say that I blame him for being so vain. He is really a very beautiful bird.
