Wet Blooms & Bunnies

The last three days have been a mixture of sun, wind and rain. We were in bad need of the rain as the ground was very dry. Now that the wind has calmed down it is nice to get out and see all the new blooms in my garden the rain has brought. I have dark blue and light blue Iris's in bloom along with a new one this year that a friend gave to us from their yard. It is a deep blue and pale yellow Iris, not sure of the name or variety.

One rose bush is in bloom and the peony's will be opened in a day or two.

White and pink clover is beginning to color the fields among the wild daisies, wild strawberries and yellow & orange Devils Paintbrush. It will soon be time for the Black Eyed Susan, my favorite wildflower.

I also saw my first baby rabbit of 2009 today. I hope he is OK as he was wet from the grass and pretty small in this big world of predators, lawnmowers, big feet and big birds. I will have to be on the look out now so I can get some photos of the new bunnies.

Keep your eye on the ground and your finger on the shutter.
